This document outlines the development process for Diablo Valley College's next five-year Educational Strategic Plan (ESP) for 2026-2031. The plan aims to update the college's mission, vision, and values, establish college-wide strategic goals across academic programs, student learning, facilities, technology, and workforce investment, and serve as a roadmap for strategic priorities, resource allocation, and institutional growth. The development involves a task force, consulting team, stakeholder input, and is expected to be finalized and approved by Fall 2026.

This Professional Development Master Plan for Diablo Valley College outlines strategies to support and enhance professional growth for all employees, aligning with the college's mission, vision, values, and goals, with a strong focus on equity and inclusion. The plan identifies three primary goals: increasing equity and access, enriching the student experience, and optimizing the effectiveness of professional development programs. These initiatives aim to cultivate a culture of continuous improvement and achieve the college's vision of educational excellence, equity, and inclusion.

The Diablo Valley College 2025-2028 Student Equity Plan is a roadmap to dismantle systemic inequities and achieve full educational equity for disproportionately impacted student populations. It establishes equity goals across five statewide metrics: enrollment, completion of transfer-level math and English, persistence, completion, and transfer, with a specific focus on eliminating gaps for males, non-binary, LGBTQ+, first-generation, Black/African American, Latine, and Asian students. The plan intensively targets Black and first-generation students through strategies such as institutionalizing equity through inquiry, data-informed decision-making, culturally responsive practices, mentorship, and leadership accountability. It aims to transform structures, practices, and culture to ensure every student has the opportunity to thrive.

The Facilities Plan for Diablo Valley College serves as a blueprint to guide future endeavors, outlining a vision for a dynamic, interconnected campus. It focuses on enhancing the experience for students, faculty, staff, and the community through meticulous data-driven planning and stakeholder collaboration. Key strategic pillars include improving accessibility and belonging, addressing facilities condition, developing student centers, managing total cost of ownership, optimizing usable outdoor space, promoting sustainability, integrating technology and innovation, and enhancing wayfinding and signage. The plan also aims to achieve significant reductions in greenhouse gas emissions and energy use intensity by 2035, and includes comprehensive projects for new construction, renovations, and site improvements across both the Pleasant Hill and San Ramon campuses to meet evolving needs and ensure universal accessibility.

The 2018-2023 Educational Master Plan for Diablo Valley College focuses on equitable student success, encompassing the student experience, college transformation, and community engagement. Key areas include creating a reflective culture of continuous improvement, understanding and communicating ideal learning conditions, and actualizing a plan that inspires cultural and structural changes for equitable student success. The plan emphasizes the college's role as an intermediary between students, employees, and the surrounding communities. It outlines a long-term plan and framework for aligning all college plans to achieve transformative change, focusing on student experience, college transformation, and community commitment. The plan uses research-based practices, including the Stages of Student Experience, Guided Pathways Pillars, and Student Success Factors, to guide its vision and goals. The plan also addresses equity gaps in student outcomes, particularly for African-American and Latino/a students, and aims to improve student engagement and inclusion. The plan's integrated framework incorporates essential components of the student experience and college-wide and community outcomes, supporting a transformational process of continuous assessment, reflection, and adjustment of the college's cultural and structural conditions.
