The Summerville Union High School District's Facilities Master Plan aims to assess existing facilities and outline necessary improvements and construction to maintain educational programming and site integrity. Key strategic areas include the replacement of aging portable classrooms (Wings 400 and 600), comprehensive infrastructure upgrades such as the sewer system, enhancements to athletic fields and campus lighting, HVAC replacements, sitewide paving, and improvements to security, sound systems, and drainage. The plan seeks to ensure well-maintained and modernized facilities, align with state educational priorities, and facilitate fiscal planning to meet the district's capital needs.

The Board discussed student interdistrict transfer appeals, labor negotiations, and conducted staff and student recognition ceremonies. The WASC Self-Study report was presented, and reports were provided by the student board member, the principal, and the superintendent covering various academic and extracurricular activities. The Board approved resolutions concerning the elimination of categorical assignments and the release of temporary certificated employees. Additionally, the Board conducted a final reading of AR 6159.4, reviewed the Second Interim Budget Report, and granted a positive certification for the district's financial obligations for the current and two subsequent fiscal years.

The board conducted a reorganization, nominating a new President and Clerk. Discussion topics included the extension of a student expulsion, the Oath of Office for new members, and student and staff recognitions. Administrative reports provided updates on school activities, including athletic achievements, facility improvements, and recent choir and arts events. The board approved two Memoranda of Understanding with CSEA regarding shift schedule changes, the 2025 Board Governance Calendar, the 2024-2025 Facility Inspection Tool results, and the 2024-2025 First Interim budget.

The board meeting covered several key operational and financial items, including reports on the California School Dashboard local indicators and cafeteria upgrades. The board reviewed and approved the Local Control Accountability Plans and the 2024-2025 budget. Additional actions included salary adjustments and contract extensions for unrepresented employees and the superintendent, approval of math textbook titles, authorization for tennis court resurfacing, and the submission of applications for the CalSHAPE and Agricultural Career Technical Education Incentive (CTEIG) grants.

The board conducted a closed session regarding personnel resignation, employment recommendations, and labor negotiations. A public hearing was held regarding the CSEA sunshine document. Reports provided updates on the WASC visitation, the Summerville High School Foundation's activities including hall of fame recruitment and grant processes, student activities, and the superintendent's report on facility improvements and the early college agreement. Action items included accepting the bid for E-Rate services, adopting the 2025-26 Transportation Plan, and finalizing titles for Special Education.
