The Chaffee County Electric Vehicle Readiness Plan is a strategic document designed to prepare the region for the growth of electric vehicles (EVs) and guide investments in supporting infrastructure. Its vision is to foster collaboration to enhance equitable access to electrified transportation options for both residents and visitors. The plan's primary goal is to facilitate county-wide investments in EV charging infrastructure to adequately serve EV drivers. It outlines three main focus areas: Charging Infrastructure, Outreach and Education, and Fleets and Transit, with strategies aimed at updating infrastructure requirements, expanding charging access, conducting educational campaigns, and promoting fleet electrification.

The Board of Commissioners discussed and approved several items, including a contract with the Greater Arkansas River Nature Association for waste diversion and outreach, a boundary line adjustment for the Cogswell project, and a plat amendment for the Longmire property. Additionally, the Board ratified and supported multiple grant applications related to forest restoration and wildfire risk mitigation, released a lot sale restriction for the Mountain Shadows subdivision, and approved funding for a pickleball facility. Other business included the approval of a subdivision exemption, a discussion on public meeting protocols, and the payment of bills. The Board also convened as the 1041 Permit Authority to continue a public hearing regarding a permit extension for a spring water production process.

The Board of Commissioners discussed and approved the procurement of COVID-19 testing equipment and supplies from Abbott Rapid DX North America. Additionally, the Board authorized the purchase of a Health Incident Trailer from JHB Group, Inc. to support COVID-19 treatment efforts within the county.

The board discussed and took action on several items, including the approval of an audit engagement letter, the Sheriff's report, and the adoption of the 2021 budget, tax levy, and appropriations resolutions. Appointments were made for the Buena Vista Public Library Board and the Chaffee County Housing Authority. Boundary line adjustments were approved for the Southwinds and Glus properties. Additionally, the board held a public hearing regarding a 1041 permit for Nestle Waters North America, which was continued to a future date, and approved a contract for an economic impact study. The meeting also included an amendment to the 2020 county budget, the approval of a proclamation recognizing Charles Forster, and a review of the 2021 commissioner meeting schedule.

The Board discussed and approved an Underwriter Engagement Agreement for Certificates of Participation. A public hearing concerning The Meadows Farm Outdoor Theater & Event Venue was continued. Other key topics included setting a 30-day period for higher flows under the County recreation in-channel diversion, adopting amendments to the Land Use Code regarding marijuana setbacks, imposing a temporary moratorium on road and alley vacations in the townsite of Nathrop, approving fee waivers for the Chaffee Housing Trust, and establishing attendance protocols for outdoor events during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Board also set future hearing dates for special event permits, confirmed meeting dates for June 2021, and supported a conservation easement at Ruby Mountain Springs. Additionally, the Board convened as the 1041 Permit Authority to receive an economic impact report regarding the Nestle Waters North America 1041 Permit renewal.
