The Chaffee County Electric Vehicle Readiness Plan is a strategic document designed to prepare the region for the growth of electric vehicles (EVs) and guide investments in supporting infrastructure. Its vision is to foster collaboration to enhance equitable access to electrified transportation options for both residents and visitors. The plan's primary goal is to facilitate county-wide investments in EV charging infrastructure to adequately serve EV drivers. It outlines three main focus areas: Charging Infrastructure, Outreach and Education, and Fleets and Transit, with strategies aimed at updating infrastructure requirements, expanding charging access, conducting educational campaigns, and promoting fleet electrification.
The Board of Commissioners discussed and approved several items, including a contract with the Greater Arkansas River Nature Association for waste diversion and outreach, a boundary line adjustment for the Cogswell project, and a plat amendment for the Longmire property.
