Board meetings and strategic plans from Carmen Davis's organization
This document outlines a foundational commitment for the city of South Fulton, emphasizing stability, safety, and sustainable progress. It focuses on three key priorities: enhancing public safety, emergency readiness, and community confidence; fostering economic development and smart growth; and achieving workforce, service delivery, and organizational excellence. The plan is designed to build a strong foundation for the community.
This document, which is grounded in the adopted 2025-2029 Strategic Plan, outlines the City of South Fulton's strategic direction and budget alignment. The plan aims to foster an innovative, diverse, safe, environmentally conscious, healthy, transparent, and financially sustainable community. It is structured around four strategic focus areas: enhancing government efficiency and productivity, increasing community collaboration and improving quality of life, strengthening financial stability and economic diversification, and expanding infrastructure to support long-term sustainability. The overarching vision is to create a responsive and accountable government and a thriving environment for all residents.
The City Council is subscribing to the five ethics principles for cities of ethics and recertifying as a City of Ethics under the GMA Program.
The meeting addressed the approval of zoning board of appeals procedures, including guidelines for regular, virtual, and special meetings, voting procedures, public meetings, and minutes. There was a discussion on nominating a chair and co-chair, with clarification needed on the roles. A petition hearing was held for a request to allow retaining walls above eight feet tall and reduce the front yard setback, focusing on topography issues and the need to move homes forward. Public comments were solicited, and questions were raised regarding the height of the walls and the reduction of frontage area.
The meeting included discussions on two petitions. The first petition, case number u22-014, concerned a request for a special use permit to operate a personal care home. The second petition, case number z22-022 and cv22-006, involved a request to rezone a property to mixed-use for the construction of a mixed-use community.
