The board discussed institutional updates, including the university's response to COVID-19, student association and faculty reports, and accreditation process updates. The Board of Trustees meeting centered on a presentation by the Cicero Group regarding the impact of the institution's current name. Following this, the Board formally accepted the findings of the name impact study and voted to recommend a name change to the Utah State Board of Higher Education, tasking the university cabinet to coordinate the identification of a new name that aligns with the institution's strategic mission and values.

The Board of Trustees discussed several policy matters, including the ratification of a new Trustee Conflict of Interest policy and an ongoing debate regarding the University Collections policy, which was deferred for further committee work and the development of a management plan. The board ratified President Nadauld's President Emeritus status.
