The board discussed the transition of the Emergency Housing Voucher (EHV) program to a new Tenant Protection Voucher (TPV) program. It was confirmed that 869 TPVs were allocated by HUD, allowing eligible families to remain in their existing units with rental assistance without needing to re-apply or move. The transition, which includes informing families by mail and phone, is expected to be completed by December 31, 2026. Staff clarified that these vouchers will provide ongoing assistance similar to the regular Housing Choice Voucher program and are tied to the families rather than being re-issuable.
