The council reviewed several department updates including counseling referrals, nursing department challenges with Telehealth services and medication administration, and updates from the child nutrition department regarding cafeteria facilities and dietary changes. The police department announced a drug takeback event. Action items included the recommendation to continue using Youth Equipped to Succeed for human sexuality instruction and the approval of a personal safety education program provided by the Johnson County Child Advocacy Center to comply with state requirements. Additionally, the council discussed program outcomes for the REACH Council, focusing on drug testing, vaping awareness, and prevention.
