This Local Control and Accountability Plan for Ravenswood City School District is a roadmap designed to empower approximately 1,500 TK-8th grade students by fostering academic growth in English Language Arts, Mathematics, and English Language Development. It aims to cultivate student well-being and a sense of belonging through strong partnerships with families and staff. A key focus is dedicated academic support for Multilingual Learners. The plan addresses identified disparities among various student subgroups, building upon a previously established Community Action Plan.

The trustees passed a resolution recognizing June 2026 as LGBTQIA+ Pride Month and discussed plans to display the rainbow and progress flags at district sites. Additionally, the meeting included board updates regarding recent school promotions, multicultural events, and a sister city partnership visit from the Kingdom of Tonga.

The Board meeting included a public comment session where a parent shared experiences regarding academic progress at a charter school. Key agenda items included the approval of a proclamation for Asian-American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, which involved student presentations and recognition of their contributions. The Board received updates from members and the superintendent regarding upcoming school events, graduation and commencement ceremonies, local mental health awareness initiatives, and the progress of student state testing.
