The council addressed several key items, including a closed session regarding personnel evaluations, real property negotiations, and status updates on pending litigation. Consent items included amendments to the municipal purchasing system, new smoking restrictions in multi-family rental housing, and the approval of various professional services agreements for prosecution and inspection, as well as landscape maintenance contracts. Public hearings resulted in the approval of CDBG funding, new regulations for solid waste and recycling, a street name change for Park Centre to Civic Center Way, and a heritage oak tree removal permit for an affordable senior housing development. Additionally, the council authorized a loan commitment for the affordable senior housing project and provided direction on a lobbyist action plan for the 101 Freeway Interchange.

The meeting included announcements regarding several upcoming community events, such as a Household Hazardous Waste Collection, an Electronic Waste Collection, and a Water Quality Symposium.
