The meeting included a review of the 2024/2025 amended budget and the 2025/2026 proposed budget. The council adopted an amended operating budget for the fiscal year beginning December 1, 2024, and ending November 30, 2025, as well as an operating budget for the fiscal year beginning December 1, 2025, and ending November 30, 2026.

The meeting included guest updates regarding the Lafayette Parish School System and proclamations for Students of the Year for Ossun Elementary and Carencro High School. Financial reports were reviewed and approved. Various department reports were presented, covering water repairs, drainage work, auditing preparations, tourism grants, and maintenance of park and sports facilities. The council approved several resolutions, including the acceptance of a low bid for water main rehabilitation, budget amendments for a sidewalk project, the acceptance of Municipal Water Pollution Prevention Audit Reports, the suspension of electronic speed enforcement, and the adoption of findings from a sewer rate study. Police Chief Anderson reported a decrease in felony cases but an increase in crashes. The Fire Chief introduced a new full-time employee. Engineering updates included the bid opening schedule for the Water Main Rehab Phase 1 and the start of Teema Road Sidewalks. Resolutions adopted authorized the Police Department to sell a publicly owned vehicle, authorized the Mayor to close St. Peter Street for two events, approved appointments to the Louisiana Municipal Natural Gas Purchasing and Distribution Authority Board, authorized entering into an agreement with Royal Engineers for consultant services, and certified requirements for the Prejean Road Sidewalks Project. The council introduced two ordinances: one amending review fees for land use regulations and another declaring a property at 129 East Gloria Switch Road dilapidated and ordering demolition. Finally, the council adopted an ordinance amending traffic regulations to require an access form and traffic impact analysis.
