The council discussed two primary topics: the time capsule and the potential administrative separation of the Planning Commission and the Downtown Development Authority (DDA). The discussion regarding the board split covered legal population thresholds, the need for increased business stakeholder representation, and potential conflicts of interest. The council also explored the procedural steps, committee structure, and the timeline required for such a transition, while acknowledging concerns about volunteer availability and long-term population projections.
