Van Buren County Community Park, Recreation, Open Space, And Greenway Plan 2021-2026
This plan updates Van Buren County's previous parks and recreation plan and guides the county's approach to parks and recreation planning through 2026. The strategic direction is built upon six core goals: preserving and enhancing existing recreational facilities, leveraging partnerships to develop and acquire new land, promoting universal design in all facilities, exploring the establishment of a dedicated parks and recreation department, maintaining a comprehensive county-wide inventory of recreational assets, and providing support for municipal recreation planning efforts. The overarching mission is to provide quality recreational resources that enhance the quality of life for residents and visitors, fostering stewardship of natural features and historically significant assets.
