Jackson County School District 9 Regular Meeting
The board meeting included student and volunteer recognitions, as well as a report on student activities. The Superintendent provided a report on district improvement characteristics, followed by an enrollment report and an update from the Employee's Association. District administrators presented a budget update discussing potential expenditures, progress on a new elementary school project, and a report on school food services provided by Sodexo. Several board policies regarding personal communication devices, social media, special education, electronic communication systems, threats of violence, directory information, and child abuse reporting were reviewed and approved. Additionally, the board approved the 2008-2009 audit committee report, the standards for public elementary and secondary schools assurance form, and a resolution to pursue the U.S. Department of Education Race to the Top grant.
