The board approved liquor license renewals for Gator Enterprise LLC and TA Operating LLC. A quarterly update was provided by the Poweshiek Economic Development Collaborative regarding business retention and expansion efforts, housing studies, and development projects in the cities of Grinnell, Brooklyn, and Malcom. Information was shared regarding upcoming training sessions for local business employees and the scheduling of an annual meeting for shareholders. Members also provided updates on their participation in various committee and agency meetings, including workforce development, juvenile detention finance, emergency management, and community health planning.

The board approved the payroll for the upcoming period and authorized a retail tobacco license renewal. Additionally, the board approved tax exemptions for open prairie and forest cover, held a monthly meeting with the Veterans Affairs Director, and set a future public hearing date to adopt the FY27 budget.

The public hearing focused on the proposed property tax levy for the upcoming fiscal year. Discussions covered budgetary increases for law enforcement, including personnel and software, as well as information technology costs, conservation projects, insurance, and equipment maintenance. The board also addressed county fund balance levels, the distinction between general and rural basic tax levies, and concerns regarding county security and wind energy infrastructure.

The board approved a comprehensive list of county claims for various services and goods. They also authorized a memorandum of understanding with the Emergency Management Commission regarding vehicle usage and issued a letter of support for a grant application by the Grinnell Sure Shots. Furthermore, the board reviewed and approved five applications for the South Central Iowa Solid Waste recycling grant. Discussions were held regarding a license agreement for a shooting range in Malcom Township, which was tabled pending revisions by the County Attorney.

The board held an informational meeting with Farm Bureau members and representatives from the Sheriff's office, Conservation department, Assessor's office, and Engineering department. Members also provided updates regarding attendance at external meetings including Veterans Affairs, E911, and Central Iowa Juvenile.
