The Board met to discuss two complaints alleging violations of the Massachusetts Open Meeting Law concerning the process for managing previous executive sessions. The Board reviewed the procedural aspects of these complaints with legal counsel and authorized the College's General Counsel to prepare formal responses. Additionally, the Board discussed measures to mitigate the risk of future Open Meeting Law violations and approved a motion to pursue comprehensive training on the Open Meeting Law, ethics, conflict of interest, and fiduciary duties.

The Board convened a special meeting to deliberate on complaints or charges brought against a public officer, employee, staff member, or individual. Following the roll call and formal motion, the Board entered into an executive session pursuant to Massachusetts General Laws to address these matters, with no further public business to be conducted upon adjournment of the session.

The board meeting included a welcome for a new trustee, committee reports from the Audit & Finance Committee regarding portfolio allocation, and updates from the By-Laws and Governance Committee concerning a new trustee compact. The Foundation Board discussed fundraising efforts and upcoming scholarship receptions. Board members reported on their participation in the ACCT National Legislative Summit and civic discourse initiatives. The President provided updates on the women's basketball team, successful advocacy regarding federal funding and Pell Grants, recent accreditation for the culinary program, and personnel updates. Additionally, a presentation regarding strategic plan results and spring enrollment metrics was delivered.

The Board received an update on the development and implementation of the strategic plan, SP 3.0. Discussions covered the consolidation of strategic frameworks, measurable objectives for success metrics, and the creation of a dashboard to track progress. Additionally, the Board discussed the anticipated restructuring of its committees to better align with the new strategic plan and enhance oversight of its implementation.

The agenda for the meeting includes personnel action reports, empowerment of the College President regarding personnel actions, and a Trustee spotlight. Committee reports will be presented for By-Laws and Governance, Presidential Evaluation, and the Foundation Board. Key discussion topics also include a presentation and vote on the Strategic Plan 3.0, followed by an executive session to discuss personnel-related matters and the review of previous executive session minutes.
