Valparaiso University Strategic Plan
This webinar details Valparaiso University's strategic plan, specifically the 'Valpo Success Initiative'. This initiative includes the 'Summer Bloom bridge program' and the 'Access College', both designed to enhance access to higher education for first-generation, underrepresented, and financially needy students. The programs focus on preparing students for college-level academics, supporting their persistence and retention through intensive advising and community building. Aligning with the university's mission to be a 'great equalizer' and its strategic themes of learning, serving, leading, and thriving, these initiatives aim to provide alternative pathways and robust support for student success.

The 'Uplift Valpo Plan' is a strategic roadmap for Valparaiso University designed to transition the institution from merely surviving to actively thriving amidst the evolving challenges of higher education. The plan is grounded in building for the future, fostering flexible responses to educational and workforce needs, enhancing societal representation, and solidifying financial sustainability. It is structured around four core themes: 'Learn' (creating unparalleled, nationally recognized learning experiences, developing interdisciplinary programs like Valpo Connect, integrating leadership and service, strengthening arts and humanities, and establishing an intentional online presence); 'Serve' (maintaining a student-centered approach, expanding access for diverse student populations, and promoting environmental sustainability); 'Lead' (embedding leadership and service into the general education curriculum, pursuing Carnegie leadership classification, and optimizing athletic programs); and 'Thrive' (prioritizing faculty and staff well-being, advancing towards Hispanic-serving institution status, optimizing enrollment and program offerings, ensuring financial stability, and investing in new physical infrastructure, including facilities for Athletics/Recreation and the College of Nursing and Health Professions).
