Illinois State Board of Education School Screening Readiness Report 2025-2028
The School Screening Readiness Report outlines a phased implementation approach for universal mental health screening for all K-12 students across Illinois. The report analyzes five key domains of readiness—Policies, Operations, Culture and Awareness, Partnership and Capacity, and Engagement and Communications—and proposes three implementation phases. It details necessary supports, including existing and developing mental health resources, as well as guidance on governance, oversight, and policy, to ensure proactive identification of mental health issues, timely interventions, and promotion of student well-being.
