The Nueces County Drainage District No. 2 is holding a bond election to authorize the issuance of $9,500,000 in bonds. These funds will finance drainage improvements, including new construction at Bosquez Rd/Avenue J intersection, Ditch A/Blue Bonnet, Casa Blanca, and Belk Lane. The project also covers necessary vehicles and equipment, rights-of-way acquisition, real property for office expansion, and the construction of a new administrative building. The election is scheduled for November 5, 2019.

The proposed budget for Nueces County for the 2025-2026 fiscal year includes a General Fund Revenue Summary with estimated actuals for 2023-2024 and 2024-2025, as well as budget projections for 2025-2026. Key revenue sources include property taxes, fees of office, fines and forfeitures, licenses and permits, intergovernmental revenues, and other income. The budget also details transfers in from various funds. The General Fund appropriations for the fiscal year 2025-2026 are summarized by department, covering a range of cost centers and functions of government. These appropriations include salaries, office expenses, professional services, and other charges for various county departments and services.

The Commissioners Court held a budget workshop to discuss the revenue summary for the fiscal year 1617 and the proposed budget for 1718. Discussions included property taxes, fees of office, fines and fees, licenses and permits, motor vehicles sales tax, intergovernmental revenue, housing of inmates, and the impact of new legislation on the jail's ability to house federal inmates.

The Commissioners Court held a special meeting to discuss the decision to phase out the emergency Medicine Residency program at Christ's health system by June 2026. The discussion included the reasons behind the decision, the impact on patient care, and the commitment to supporting affected associates. There was also a discussion regarding the need for more primary care providers in the community and the importance of collaboration with the W County Hospital District.

The meeting included recognition of the 2024-2025 Veterans Memorial High School boys basketball team and a proclamation of April 2025 as Safe Digging Month. The court also discussed concerns about Aena clean hydrogen and groundwater drilling, and reappointed incumbents to the Nueces Center for Mental Health and Intellectual Disabilities. Additionally, appointments were made for the South Texas Water Authority.
