The task force heard reports from the K-12 and Higher Education working groups. Additionally, presentations were conducted regarding digital literacy and digital citizenship, the application of artificial intelligence in the classroom, equitable technology in education, diversity in STEM, AI ethics, and academic integrity.

The task force received a report from the Cybersecurity and Labor Working Groups and hosted presentations delivered by Dmitry Zhdanov and Jason Bowen.

The task force meeting focused on the introduction of its members and a discussion regarding its purpose and expectations. Key presentation topics included an introductory overview of artificial intelligence, covering definitions and fundamental distinctions, as well as a panel discussion centered on the intersection of artificial intelligence, democracy, and elections. The session also included public comment regarding the impact of artificial intelligence on students and potential concerns regarding bias in automated selection processes.

The strategic plan outlines a vision for a reimagined Illinois government empowered by innovation and technology, with a mission to equip state agencies with modern, user-friendly technology solutions. It focuses on enhancing user experience through user-centric digital solutions, driving innovation by leveraging modern technology, protecting systems and data, partnering with state agencies to increase value delivered to residents, enabling data-informed decision-making, and fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration within DoIT.

Key goals include improving residents' experience via user-centric digital solutions, driving innovation with modern technology, protecting systems and data, partnering with agencies to increase value, enabling data-informed decision-making, and fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration to develop a high-performing workforce.
