The board reviewed two primary variance requests. The first involved a request to construct a pole-type structure with reduced setbacks, where the board approved the structure at a 13-foot setback, noting practical difficulties due to wetlands and drainage issues. The second request involved the Kenneth W. Olson Trust seeking to construct an addition and attached garage with reduced setbacks from the ordinary high watermark of a lake. This request was approved with the findings that the new structure was situated further back than the existing dwelling and that practical difficulties existed due to the parcel layout.
