Refugio Independent School District District of Innovation Plan 2026-2031
This document outlines the Refugio Independent School District's District of Innovation Plan, designed to leverage local control and flexibility offered to independent school districts. The plan focuses on strategic exemptions from state mandates, including the first day of instruction, teacher contract days, teacher certification, probationary contracts, minimum attendance requirements, class size waivers, and district-level and site-based decision-making. The overarching goal is to empower the district to implement innovative practices, enhance operational efficiency, and tailor educational programs to better meet the specific needs of its students and community, replacing traditional compliance-driven processes with a strategic planning approach.
