The Council meeting included a memorial recognition for a former council member and special business proclamations recognizing the Hahnville High School Lady Tigers softball team for their state championship win and designating Juneteenth National Independence Day in the parish. Additionally, the Council considered and discussed an ordinance to create a new Department of Engineering to centralize technical oversight, project management, and engineering standards for the parish, which involves moving functions from the Department of Public Works.

The council recognized an Eagle Scout and proclaimed a National Day of Prayer. Reports from the Civil Service Board and Personnel Office were provided. Several ordinances were introduced for future public hearings, including projects for boat launch improvements, traffic signage, and property sales. The council approved an agreement with the School Board for a Summer Food Service Program while postponing a property sale. Additionally, the council addressed appointments to the Planning and Zoning Commission and the Communications District, and accepted a resignation from the Communications District.
