Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food And Forestry Managed Pollinator Protection Plan 2016
The Oklahoma Managed Pollinator Protection Plan (OKMP3) is designed to improve pollinator protection across the state without imposing undue hardship or economic damage on Oklahoma's agricultural industry. This multifaceted plan engages various stakeholders, including beekeepers, pesticide applicators, farmers, ranchers, and government agencies, to mitigate risks to pollinator species. Key initiatives include public education through presentations, press releases, and a dedicated website; incorporating pollinator protection into pesticide applicator training; promoting best management practices (BMPs) for beekeepers, landowners, and pesticide users; and expanding programs for pollinator habitat creation and conservation.
