The Council discussed a proposal from the Director of Kentucky Lake Economic Development regarding an increase in investment from the City of Benton and the Benton Gas System. The Mayor presented the Municipal Road Aid Agreement for Fiscal Year 2026-2027, which was approved by the Council. Additionally, the Council approved a request for an 8% temporary fuel surcharge on customer bills for GFL services, subject to re-evaluation. Department reports were presented for the police, gas, fire, maintenance, sewer, and water departments. Finally, the Council noted the resignation of a member who will transition to a new role as Planning & Zoning Administrator and Code Enforcement Officer.
