The potential impact of SRO absences on the police department's coverage and costs was also discussed. The conversation covered the logistics of managing SRO time off, communication protocols, and the possibility of the town providing updated MOU language. Alternative solutions for maintaining a police presence at the school during SRO absences were explored, including parking a cruiser outside the school and utilizing the SRO's office as a satellite office for other officers.
