This document outlines the Oakland Charter Township Parks, Recreation, & Land Preservation Master Plan for 2020-2024. Strategic priorities involve understanding community needs, developing the parks system, implementing a five-year capital improvement plan, and emphasizing preservation stewardship to maintain the Township's rural character and natural resources.

The meeting centered on the Stony Creek Ravine Nature Park, discussing recreation facilities, park entrances, parking lots, trails, restrooms, picnic areas, observation platforms, signage, and a potential Spark Grant application. The commission considered the impact of COVID-19 on the community and how the park improvements could address negative impacts. Participants at the design workshop discussed the placement of amenities, ADA accessibility, trail connections to Stony Creek Metropark, and concerns about parking and safety. The commission also discussed the Land Preservation Fund Budget, Parks and Recreation Fund Budget, and a maintenance truck repair.

The 2024 Safety Paths & Trails Strategy Plan for Oakland Township aims to connect the township through a network of safety paths and trails to support a healthy lifestyle and strengthen community social connections by providing greater access to local points of interest. The plan focuses on creating a comprehensive non-motorized transportation system, preserving natural and historical areas, offering diverse recreational opportunities, ensuring safety and accessibility for all users, and establishing sustainable funding and maintenance strategies. It also emphasizes community engagement, collaboration with partners, and adherence to design standards to improve residents' quality of life.
