Autauga County Safety Action Plan 2026-2045
Autauga County's Safety Action Plan provides a strategic framework to guide future investments and policy decisions for improving transportation safety on county-maintained roadways. The plan is aligned with the Safe System Approach, advocating for a goal of zero fatalities and serious injuries. Key focus areas include addressing prevalent urban crash trends such as left turns, side impacts, vulnerable road users, dark conditions, and single-vehicle incidents, alongside rural trends like single-vehicle crashes, negotiating curves, overturn/rollover events, fixed object/roadway departures, and vulnerable road users. The plan incorporates leadership, safety analysis, public engagement, equity considerations, and strategy selection. The overarching vision is to achieve a 5% annual reduction in fatal and serious injury crashes by 2045, using a 2019-2023 baseline.
