The meeting agenda includes discussions on tax corrections and addressing over and under valuations. Additionally, the board will provide an opportunity for public comments.
The Planning Commission conducted two public hearings: one regarding an amendment to zoning regulations to increase the maximum size of Accessory Dwelling Units from 1,000 to 1,500 square feet, and another concerning a Conditional Use Permit application by Knobbe, LTD. for an ADU. Following these hearings, the Commission recommended approval of the Conditional Use Permit to the Board of Supervisors. Additionally, the Commission discussed a recent training session and reviewed a list of permits issued since May.
The meeting included a review of the financial report, which detailed expenses for July 2023. There were no applications submitted for assistance through the Cuming County Veteran's Aid Fund or Nebraska Veterans Aid. The board discussed veteran flag holders for cemeteries, the honor roll, and upcoming meetings and trainings. Nebraska Dental Days was scheduled, and the Rural Public Transit System Program was discussed. The possibility of hiring a part-time employee to assist with transporting veterans to appointments was raised, along with yearly evaluations and pay raises.
The commission convened to conduct a public hearing regarding a Conditional Use permit application for the stockpiling and land application of a liquid by-product from a corn processing facility. The Planning Commission reviewed the administrative findings, which confirmed compliance with Cuming County zoning regulations and state agricultural and environmental requirements. Following a presentation from the applicant's representative regarding management, odor control, and field testing procedures, the commission approved Resolution 20230501.
