This Strategic Plan for the Terrytown neighborhood aims to provide a comprehensive suite of tools and resources for community stakeholders to enhance housing stock and quality of life. It outlines recommended strategies and actions across three core areas: neighborhood amenities, services, and infrastructure; land use and development regulation; and housing stock enhancement. The plan seeks to encourage new investment, foster community well-being, and guide ongoing revitalization efforts.

The Board of Zoning Adjustment heard several cases regarding variances for property modifications. These included requests for rear yard setbacks for residential generators and new single-family residences, as well as front yard setbacks for fences, bulk containers, and sight triangles. The board also reviewed requests related to parking space requirements for office conversions and the size limitations for backyard pergolas. All presented cases were approved by the board.

The Personnel Board addressed several items, including the election of a board chairman, various employee appeals, and proposals for board consideration such as amending the Pay Plan for Classified Service to create new classifications and revising certifications for Building Permits positions. An executive session was scheduled to discuss personnel matters regarding medical leave requests. Additionally, the Board reviewed requests for advanced or extended leaves of absence, employee status reallocations, and received a report on an advertising plan for parish jobs.

The executive committee meeting agenda includes several key business items: a resolution for an amendment to the Avondale Global Gateway LLC lease and bond issuance with a PILOT arrangement, approval of unbudgeted expenses for rebranding signage at the Churchill Technology & Business Park and the JEDCO Conference Center, and the authorization of engineering services with Duplantis Design Group, PC. Furthermore, the committee will review a memorandum of understanding for a hotel development at the park, a subrecipient agreement for CDBG-DR funds for kitchen equipment at the Food and Beverage Incubator, and funding for strategic vertical video content services.

The board conducted a public hearing to review several zoning variance requests. Approvals were granted for two-family residence setbacks in Terrytown, residential setback variances for a project in River Ridge, a rear yard setback addition in Metairie, and an appeal regarding accessory building coverage. Two requests concerning fence setbacks in Jefferson and River Ridge were deferred for further consideration at a future meeting.
