The City Council meeting included a closed session regarding existing litigation and real property negotiations. The Commission received reports from the City Librarian concerning library system activities, including services, programs, and the status of long-term initiatives such as the Goleta Valley Library construction and capital campaign. Additionally, the Commission discussed and actioned the selection of a new Chair and Vice-Chair, and formally adopted the meeting schedule for the remainder of the year.

The meeting included an update on the Goleta Valley Library ADA, Safety, and Building Improvement Project, during which the Commission received a progress report and discussed concerns regarding future lighting specifications. A report was also provided by the City Librarian covering library programs, events, and initiatives. Additionally, the Commission received and accepted an update on library services during the construction phases scheduled for the upcoming spring and summer.
