Metuchen Borough Council Borough Council Meeting
The council meeting included welcoming Rutgers University students participating in the Scarlet Service Initiative. A moment of silence was held for a former council member and a former Board of Education member. During public comments, a resident thanked the mayor and various departments for their communication and support during recent power outages and suggested having a council member per borough quadrant for better communication during emergencies. Another resident inquired about capital improvements, specifically regarding police vehicle replacements and the rationale behind them, the master plan's goal of incorporating EVs, parking lot paving projects at Edgar and Pool, and DPW resource allocation for bulk pick-up services. The council also addressed reports from the Chief Financial Officer and accepted communications for the consent agenda.
