The Special Magistrate hearing focused on code enforcement violations. Several new cases were presented regarding property maintenance issues such as broken fencing, broken windows, trash and debris, deteriorating paint, and structural damage, with compliance deadlines and potential fines established. Additionally, the hearing addressed second reviews for several older cases where properties remained in non-compliance. For these cases, the Special Magistrate authorized the City to record official liens against the properties due to ongoing violations, including overgrown grass, roofing disrepair, and structural code breaches.
