The board meeting agenda includes the approval of the treasurer's report, maintenance director's report, athletic director's report, principal and teacher's reports, and the superintendent's report. Public comments will be heard. Financial business includes the recommendation for approval of various fund encumbrances (General Fund, Building Fund, Child Nutrition Fund, Building Bond Fund, and Activity Funds). Human resources items include recommendations for approval of fundraisers and substitutes for the 2024-2025 school year. The board will discuss and potentially approve contracts with Compliance Resource Group, NEO Ortho and Rehab, LLC, and Pediatric Assessment & Counseling Services, LLC for the 2025-2026 school year. Discussion will also include the acceptance of a resignation, hiring of an elementary SPED para, rehiring of certified and support staff (listed in attachments), and participation in the Teacher Empowerment Program.

The philosophy of Fairland Public Schools emphasizes providing each student with an excellent education tailored to their individual needs and aspirations. The school system is committed to a curriculum that stresses academic disciplines, moral objectives, physical development, social efficiency, and productive citizenship. It values community involvement and recognizes the importance of adapting to an ever-changing society while maintaining traditional values and respect for authority. The Individual Career and Academic Plan (ICAP) is designed to help students establish personalized academic and career goals, explore postsecondary options (including military, apprenticeships, and further education), align coursework, apply to institutions, secure financial aid, and enter the workforce. The plan involves collaboration between the student, their parent/guardian, counselors, administrators, teachers, and other school personnel. All students in grades 9-12 receive ICAP information, and starting with the class of 2020, ICAP completion is required for graduation. Annual updates are necessary, and the plan includes career/college interest surveys, postsecondary/workforce goals, course sequences, academic progress tracking (including remediation, AP/IB credits, and certifications), and experience in service learning or work environments. Students with disabilities will have their ICAPs developed in cooperation with their IEPs or 504 plans.
