The committee will conduct a preliminary review of proposals received during the 90 Washington Street RFP process. Additionally, the meeting agenda includes a public comment session and the finalization of interview questions for the RFP applicants.

The committee discussed several items including the superintendent's report covering school improvement plans for Capuano and Brown schools and a school climate safety memo. Subcommittees provided reports on finance and facilities. New business included the approval of bill rolls, the authorization of union side letters, first readings of appointments to municipal committees, a resolution supporting inclusive school design, the approval of various student field trips, and the acceptance of federal and state grant funds.

This School Improvement Plan outlines a strategic roadmap focused on enhancing academic achievement and equity. The plan's core theory of action is to address inequities, particularly for Hispanic/Latino students, through data-driven adjustments to improve academic progress, engagement, and reduce achievement gaps. Key goals include improving student academic achievement in Mathematics and meeting state target scale scores for Hispanic students in ELA and Math. Additional strategic priorities encompass fostering community and student well-being through restorative practices, social-emotional learning, anti-bias training, and actively engaging new families and staff into the school community through programmatic changes and workshops.

The meeting focused on the overview and finalization of the Preliminary Design Program for the new school building project. The committee reviewed the document content and appendix, followed by a formal motion to approve the submission of the Preliminary Design Program to the MSBA.
