This document details the addition of a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) pillar to UMass Chan Medical School's existing IMPACT 2025 Strategic Plan. The new pillar aims to integrate DEI across the institution by focusing on five priority areas: culture and climate, curriculum, education and engagement, equity within recruitment, retention and advancement, and improvement and accountability. The objective is to make DEI central to the institution's vision, ensure intentional efforts, and increase the representation of underrepresented groups, thereby moving from good intentions to measurable action.
