Alameda County Water District Special Board Meeting
The board meeting focused on the inaugural Water Ambassadors program, a pilot project created in partnership with the Fremont Unified School District. The program provided high school students with hands-on learning experiences through various modules covering water treatment, distribution, quality, engineering, resource protection, and water use efficiency. Students presented their capstone projects, which included educational lectures on sustainable landscaping, stormwater stewardship initiatives to mitigate pollution, and the development of a low-cost prototype for microplastics detection in water.
