The document outlines Ohio Christian University's mission to prepare students for effective service in church and society through a holistic, Christ-centered education rooted in the Wesleyan tradition. It emphasizes a vision for becoming a 21st-century, relevant academic learning community. The guiding principles focus on being Christ-focused, academically and learning-focused, excellence-focused, relevance-focused, and entrepreneurial and creative-focused. The strategic goals for 2010-2014 include developing new programs, increasing quality programming, enhancing delivery methods, establishing new sites and partnerships, developing new financial resources, and increasing enrollment and revenue.
The strategic plan focuses on several key areas including enrollment growth to 1000 students, expansion of academic programs by adding five new degree programs and educational sites, and ensuring quality through aligned educational objectives and assessment. It also aims to update campus facilities through major construction projects, strengthen financial performance via a capital campaign, enhance student services, and foster community, church, and alumni relations. The plan emphasizes a Christ-centered, biblically based, and leadership-focused approach to develop a new generation of Christian leaders.
The five-fold vision for Ohio Christian University focuses on recentering the university on its doctrinal center, rebuilding the engine for enrollment and business dealings, reconstructing the School for Ministry, establishing a major for science and medical training (including nursing), and establishing a major for agriculture. The aim is to enhance the university's spiritual and academic environment, increase its relevance to the state and local communities, and position it as a premier conservative Wesleyan Christian undergraduate school.
