This document serves as an End of Year Update for the 2024-2027 Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP), providing a review of 2026-2027 progress and financial projections. It covers NCS Local Accountability Systems and WASC Accreditation, presenting rigor data on work amount, challenge level, meaning-making, and college preparedness, along with student feedback from listening sessions. The plan outlines key strategic goals: solidifying data-based instructional practices in Math and Literacy, cultivating a strong school culture to increase attendance, and building human resources to attract and retain highly qualified staff.
The board meeting primarily served as a platform for student representatives from various school sites to provide end-of-year reports and updates. Key topics included recognition of student representatives for their service, summaries of end-of-year events such as graduations, award ceremonies, school trips, and special project showcases. Additionally, information regarding personnel changes, such as the departure of a principal and the appointment of a new one, was discussed.
The Board of Directors discussed various operational and policy matters, including the approval of the expenditure determination of the Education Protection Account, retirement of fixed assets, and the adoption of policies regarding catastrophic leave and student absences. Additional actions included the approval of CalSTRS certification, third-party administrator services for retirement plans, a job description for a student worker, and the declaration of need for fully qualified educators. The Board also reviewed student and family handbooks, heard first readings of policies on hazardous waste and campus search and seizure, received a report on a campus safety workshop and a current enrollment update, and conducted a closed session regarding the Executive Director/Superintendent evaluation.
