The meeting commenced with the Pledge of Allegiance and a land acknowledgement recognizing the traditional lands of the Chinukan people and the Cowitz tribe. Following this, an administration of oath of office was conducted for elected officials for Director positions number one and five. The board then proceeded with reorganization, resulting in the election of a new board president, vice president (Rob Perkins), and legislative representative (Director Boenegra). A fall sports review recognized student-athletes and coaches from various high schools for their achievements. Public comments featured concerns regarding the investigation and suspension of Union High School football coach Steve Pine following a halftime speech, and a student's expression of safety concerns regarding gender identification and bathroom privacy at school facilities.
