The board received a comprehensive update from the Chief, including information on academy training status, upcoming field training, and the goal of reaching full staffing levels per shift. Discussion covered recent multi-purpose tactical training for officers, successful collaborative assistance provided to the Hendricks County Sheriff's Department for warrant service, and participation in the community Easter scramble event. Additionally, the status of current office accommodations and upcoming facility build-out plans were reviewed, and a request was made for improved communication regarding officer swearing-in ceremonies.

The board approved the 2026 Captains Promotional List and the promotion of a lieutenant. Recognition and awards were presented, including 20-year service awards and the designation of two firefighters as Master Firefighters. Additionally, two new lateral firefighters were sworn in to the team.

The meeting included the presentation of certificates of commendation to several police officers for their response to a domestic disturbance incident, as well as the recognition of a sergeant for ten years of service. There was significant discussion regarding police use of license plate reader and surveillance cameras. Additionally, the council received updates on the Barlow McLean Estate Master Plan and approved resolutions and ordinances related to tax abatements, annexations, and municipal code amendments.
