Town of Phillipston Special Town Meeting
The meeting focused on fiscal matters regarding the regional school district budget for the upcoming fiscal year. Discussion centered on two articles: the first proposed a proposition 2.5 override to fund the budget, which was rejected via a ballot vote. The second article proposed transferring funds from the municipal stabilization fund to cover the budget gap. Key points of deliberation included the financial impact on taxpayers, the appropriate use of the stabilization fund for recurring expenses, potential implications for the town's bond rating, and the risk of service reductions if funding was not secured.
