City of Merritt Council Regular Meeting
The Council received presentations from the Better at Home Nicola Valley Society regarding senior support services and from BC Hydro regarding potential locations for new EV charging stations. Council adopted an amendment to the Animal Control Bylaw and proceeded with readings for the Bylaw Notice Enforcement Bylaw. Decisions were made to pursue grant funding for the Kengard Well Treatment project and Civic Centre upgrades. Additionally, the Council approved the construction of a community garden on the former railway property and received the Q2 report from the Baillie House Information Centre. Notices of motion were submitted regarding fines for pigeon regulation enforcement and potential grant funding for a community food hub. The meeting also included reports from council members and a closed session to discuss confidential matters.
