The Board requested more focused goals regarding non-credit offerings and discussed anticipated challenges over the next five years, including State General Aid and the incorporation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in operations and classrooms. Further actions included reviewing and ratifying the Campus Master Plan, receiving updates on the new Transportation and Logistics building and its capital campaign, and discussing future capital project timelines. The session also covered state legislation regarding Workforce Bachelor's Degrees and the future of Workforce Pell. Additionally, the Board reviewed its own governance focus for the next five years, including committee structure, policy review processes, president evaluation, board self-assessment, fiduciary responsibilities (creating a new process for monthly bill review), and professional development needs. Current reserve fund balances were discussed, and the Board requested payoff dates for current bonds.

The Board meeting commenced with the approval of the agenda and the minutes from the November 17, 2025, Regular Meeting. Action items included setting the date for the January Board Retreat and Regular Meeting (January 16), approving the KIWR Operations & Audit Report Public Hearing for the January meeting, and approving revisions to the 2026/2027 and 2027/2028 Academic Calendars.
