New Business included the approval of a Volunteer Fire Department Stipend Policy, the use of surplus county vehicles as trade-ins for a dump truck, the approval of a General Services Agreement with Watkins & Associates Engineering, the adoption of the FY 2026 Budget, and the passage of a resolution to amend HB 1601 by removing commissioner districts.

The Board of Commissioners workshop portion of the meeting included discussion on soliciting bids for the construction of a breakroom for the road department and allocating funds for new Christmas decorations for the county courthouse, with a note that $5000.00 was offered to Echols County Commission for decorations. During the regular session, the board addressed several items: consideration of adding an awning to the Sheriff's Office for judge cover, an update on the request for a dedicated building for the Board of Elections, approval of the 2026 Holiday Schedule for county employees, and nominations for Mrs. Charlene Davis to the South Georgia Community Service Board for Legacy Behavioral Health and Mrs. Karen Black to the GA Department of Behavioral Health & Developmental Disabilities Advisory Council. Furthermore, the board awarded the Lawn Care Contract to Southern Acres Lawn Care and accepted the Community Development Block Grant Engineering Services Award and the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Administrative Services Award.
