The proceedings documented an event dedicated to the Mountain Park Military Memorial in Wilkesboro, NC. Key discussion points included the history and significance of the cemetery, which serves as a resting place for veterans and others. A speaker recounted an anecdote about a widower who consistently placed yellow roses on his sweetheart's grave. The ceremony involved a formal presentation of colors, the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance, and an opening prayer emphasizing gratitude for religious freedom and the sacrifices of service members. A significant portion of the event honored Prisoners of War and Missing in Action through a traditional White Table ceremony detailing the symbolism of each item on the table. Later segments acknowledged the efforts of community members and town employees in improving and maintaining the cemetery grounds, including the restoration of headstones by Dr. Bill Frolley, who was honored with the town's highest honor, the key to the city.
