Mantiki Unified's vision aims to ensure all eighth-grade students are prepared for algebra upon entering high school. This is achieved by developing challenging and rigorous math practices from primary levels, aligning with the California math framework to foster learning through investigation and collaboration. Key initiatives include providing teacher support through peer learning labs, evaluating and adopting new student-centered curriculum, and piloting an accelerated Algebra 1 course for advanced eighth graders. The overarching goal is to cultivate an environment where students perceive themselves as mathematicians and achieve continuous success throughout their K-12 educational journey.

Mantique Unifi is committed to ensuring every student achieves grade-level reading standards through a comprehensive early literacy initiative for Transitional Kindergarten (TK) through third grade. The initiative employs programs like Foundations for phonics and word recognition, integrates the science of reading methodology, and provides explicit phonics instruction. Additionally, it supports universal transitional kindergarten and ongoing professional development for educators, with the overarching goal of fostering fluent readers by third grade to prepare students for academic success in higher grades.

The agenda for the regular meeting included discussions and actions across several areas. Closed Session items involved student disciplinary actions (26-10 and 26-11W), public school employment matters for both certificated and classified personnel, discipline/dismissal/release/reassignment/evaluation of public school employees, and conferences with labor negotiators for the Manteca Educators' Association (MEA/CTA/NEA) and California School Employees Association (CSEA) chapters. Closed Session also included conferences with legal counsel regarding pending and anticipated litigation. Open Session featured communications, including the Student Board Report and the Superintendent's Report covering the Mid-Year LCAP Update, Strategic Plan Implementation Monitoring, and Negotiations Update. The Consent Agenda included the first reading of a revised Board Policy on Social Media, the final adoption of revised policies on Charter School Authorization and Oversight, and Sexual Harassment. Consent items also covered the disposal of obsolete textbooks, approval of an overnight field trip request to Virginia, teacher assignment approval, acceptance of warrants, and adoption of personnel assignment orders. New Business items included voting for the 2026 CSBA Delegate Assembly Election, approval of amendments to a Side Letter Agreement and a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with MEA/CTA/NEA regarding salary schedules and classroom access due to construction, consideration of unpaid leave of absence requests for two classified employees, and the award of a bid for structural repairs at George Komure Elementary School. An information item regarding Artificial Intelligence was also scheduled.
