Clay Rural Water System
The project consists of the construction two (2) ground storage reservoirs (GSR). Tanks can either be provided as glass lined bolted steel, welded steel, or prestressed concrete. Greenfield GSR includes installation of a new booster station, removal of the existing booster station, as well as, accompanying piping and appurtenances, mechanical, electrical, and site work. Greenfield GSR has alternative sizes of 1.0 MG and 0.75 MG, respectively. Wakonda WTP GSR consists of alternative sizes of 1.0 MG and 0.75 MG and includes site work, as well as, piping and appurtenances.

This Project consists of the installation of two (2) new production wells along with piping to a new water treatment plant (WTP) located adjacent to their existing WTP near Wakonda, South Dakota. The new WTP plant will have a capacity of 2.5-million gallons per day (MGD) with future expandability to 5 MGD. The new WTP building with offices, lab and shop included, will be approximately 140' x 130' and constructed of precast insulated concrete walls. New equipment including that required for lime-soda ash softening, square concrete solids contact basins, pre-manufactured media filtration tanks, CO2 storage and chemical dosing systems/rooms are included as part of the design. The existing sludge ponds will be reused with discharge piping modifications. Construction of a new clear well and SCADA controls for the new WTP are under separate contracts and not part of this Project’s scope.
