City of Roma

The City Council will hear a presentation regarding property restoration and disaster response services. Financial and accounts payable reports for the month ending February 2026 will be reviewed and acted upon. The agenda includes selecting a vendor for a 2026 Transit Ambulance, initiating a plan of finance for the issuance of Certificates of Obligation, and approving a related resolution. Additionally, the council will address the repair of the Utility Collections Building, a real property purchase agreement for wastewater collection infrastructure, and potential membership with OMNIA Partners. A Memorandum of Agreement with ICE for the 287(g) Task Force Program will also be considered, along with status updates on public safety operations and municipal projects. An executive session is scheduled for deliberations regarding real property and consultation with legal counsel.

The Planning & Zoning Commission meeting addressed several key items. A public hearing was held regarding a zone change request from Multi-Family to Neighborhood Commercial for a property on North Estrella Street. Another public hearing involved a proposed zone change from General Commercial to Mixed-Use along Garcia and North Grant Streets, aligning zoning with the city's Future Land Use Plan. The commission also approved the final plat for the Lone Star Ranchettes Subdivision. Amendments to the City of Roma Code of Ordinances, Chapter 95, Zoning (Article II, Article III, Appendix A, B, and C) and the Official Zoning Map were discussed and approved. A Conditional Use Permit to allow a duplex in a Suburban Residential District was also approved.
