The council received a presentation from a local nonprofit organization offering resources for survivors of domestic violence and human trafficking. Departmental reports were provided, including updates on fire department equipment upgrades, police department staffing and grant applications, parks maintenance and community event planning, and infrastructure repairs for streets and the water system. The council approved professional services agreements for legal counsel and discussed updates on the Sewer Project Bond. Furthermore, the council approved a change to the compensation structure for department heads to allow for overtime pay and formally introduced the new Police Chief and City Clerk.

The council reviewed departmental reports including fire department call statistics and training, park maintenance issues, street department winter storm cleanup activities, and water and sewer operations. A policy change regarding a requirement for an adult to be present for water meter turn-ons was discussed and approved. The council approved Resolution #315 regarding the Arkansas Federal Surplus Property Program and performed three readings of Ordinance #535 concerning amendments to bond-financed infrastructure improvements. Additionally, the council discussed the appointment of a temporary clerk due to a vacancy and noted the resignation of two part-time police officers.

The council meeting addressed several key issues, including a farmland update, a lawsuit settlement with ARML Attorney Keith Wren, a conflict of interest ordinance, and an amended 2022 budget (Resolution 312). Financial reports were reviewed across various city funds. Commissioner reports covered Airport, Fire, Police, Parks, Street, and Water & Sewer departments. A discussion took place regarding a quote for a new street department equipment building, and the purchase of a new mower was approved. The appointment of a new city attorney was also approved.
