The City of Bell is soliciting sealed bids for exterior repairs and painting of the historic James George Bell House (Project ID BID PW25-003). Bids must be submitted through the City of Bell Procurement portal and are due by 2:00 pm Pacific Time on January 27, 2026; a mandatory pre-bid meeting is scheduled for January 5, 2026. This is a Public Works Invitation to Bid (not a grant) for preservation and aesthetic improvement of the structure.

Work includes demolition of buildings and site clearance; pre-demolition hazardous material abatement, demolition of buildings and building slabs, foundations, removal of vegetation and landscaping, on-site utilities, including underground utilities, backfill and compaction of excavated areas for removal of foundations, backfill, compaction and grading of work site, haul-away and proper disposal of all demolished and removed materials and complete cleanup of the work area.

The project generally consists of construction of permeable asphaltic concrete pavement, construction of concrete curb and gutter and required adjacent pavement, sidewalk, driveway approach, construction of concrete curb and walkways, installation of synthetic turf and stabilized decomposed granite, install concrete pavers, furnish and install picnic shelters, light poles and fixtures, lighting and electrical system, park furniture including benches, picnic tables, litter receptacles, drinking fountain, adjustment of existing catch basins and installing dry wells, furnish and install perimeter fence with single and double gates, construction of concrete perimeter wall with integrated lighting.
